Welcome to our After School Club

Scissett Kids Club is a quality, Ofsted registered After School Club which opened in 2002.

The After School Club offers two services:

  • After School Club (3:15pm – 6:00pm)
  • Early Pick-up (3:15pm – 4:15pm)

Who is it for?

All children attending Scissett CE Academy or Scissett Middle School (up to and including Year 8).

Children attending Scissett CE Academy are collected from class.  Scissett Middle School children make their own way to the Club and sign-in.

When?

Every school day after school (3:15pm) until 6pm.

What do we do?

Provide a safe place for your child to unwind after school and have ‘downtime/playtime’ with their friends. A selection of activities are provided and a choice of healthy snacks.

Tea-time snack

Broad selection of tea-time snacks including sandwiches, wraps, toasted sandwiches, home made soup, jacket potatoes, fruit, yoghurts, and milk or water to drink.

Activities

We aim to provide a relaxing and friendly environment where your child can either play or relax with their friends, they can do their homework, arts & crafts, games, watch a DVD, and supervised outdoor play and gardening.

Fees

After School Club: £10.90 per child per day.

Early pick-up: £5.25 per child per day (including a tea-time snack)

Flexible arrangements can be made to support working parents/carers, including shift workers.

The Team

Julie Horn who was the inspiration behind the original Kids Club is the Club’s manager.

Grace Buckley  the senior playworker.

Louise Morley, Sandra Morris,  Emily Featherstone, Sue MacDonald, , Zoe Rushforth, Anthea Smith,  and Amy Buckley are the playworkers.

All staff hold an enhanced DBS.  Most staff are qualified in playwork and hold a current first aid certificate.
